Tour day 10
Today we leave Flagstaff Arizona to venture to Holbrook Arizona. 93.6 miles of briding, 1177 feet of climbing and 2886 feet of descending. That has a nice ring ring to it. Going down rather than up. Woke up to 32 degrees and cloudy skys.
We will be traveling on the famous route 66
Well we all started out and it hailed, then rain, then snow to rain. Figure that out. So we then broke out of that to mostly cloudy with some sun. The wind then picked up. Had sustained winds 20 to 35 miles per hour with gusts of 40 to 55. Thank goodness it was mostly a tailwindwith with some crosswind. Gave us a push. Averaged almost 25 miles per hour. This is what was behind us.
The terrain is rather barren but beautiful. Hope you notice the distance between rest stops. They don't mess around out here.
Standing on the corner of Winslow Arizona. Think that's a song. Oh yeah. Had my arm around Jackson Browne. That's me all bundled up. Glen Frey was a few feet over of the Eagles. Not in the pic.
After that it was the final push to the hotel. 3 flats later I made. Hip hip hurray. Well another day in the books. Off to our next destination of Gallop New Mexico. Crossing another state line. Looks like around 94 miles.
Here is a satellite view of the ride.
