Tour day 11
Today we will leave Holbrook Arizona to Gallup New Mexico. It was a cool morning of 40 degrees. Calm wind and some clouds. Last day in Arizona. Have 94.2 miles of riding if we don't get lost. 2412 feet of climbing and 1122 feet of descending. Here we are preparing to leave.
This is our itinerary and weather report.
We will be on the freeway again. Interstate 40. Been have been getting a few flats but that's what happens when your traveling 3400 miles. Things happen. Wind really picked up. Southwest winds 20 to 30 miles per hour. Occasionally a guest over 40. It was all of that and more. Thank goodness it was mostly a tailwind. Here is some of what we saw before New Mexico.
There are flowers in the desert, not just cactus. Is beautiful. We then road into New Mexico. Beautiful.
Hope you enjoyed the sights as much as I did. You miss so much in a car. Lot harder on a bicycle but get so much out of it. I am very fortunate to be able to do this. Completed 728.9 miles. Plenty to go. I am also so so fortunate to ride with this wonderful group of people. The lady's doing this are a cut above me. It's not the most easy thing to do. Crossroads keeps us all safe.
Tomorrow is Gallup New Mexico to Grant's New Mexico. Just 66 miles. Liking that. Still cold and windy. Hope a tail wind. Them days will end.
If your interested in what I road check this out. Enjoy
