Tour day 12

That was special. Woke up to the 30s again. Took off in the 30s for our 66 mile ride. Leaving Gallup New Mexico to Grant's New Mexico. I like it cool but way cold is a bit much. Didn't bring everything since I thought (wrong) it was going to be warmer. First mile on old route 40 very nice. We got on freeway for approximately 27 miles. Construction made it very tricky but we all made it through. Here are some pics before I 40, the weather report and our route.

Our sag stop,  rest and replenish was needed after the freeway. Crossroads always makes sure we supplied with great refreshing food, supplements and power drinks. It's well needed for the next 38 miles of headwinds and crosswinds. Wind picks up over the barren land. Sustained 22 mile per hour wind with gusts enough to stop you in your tracks.  We also stopped at the Continental Divide. Crossed it to ride to Grant's New Mexico.

If your wondering what those 3 posts are it's the Continental Divide. This is so cool. Beat from the wind but after a good dinner and some sleep we will be ready to get it tomorrow. So where does day 13 take us. Leave Grant New Mexico to Albuquerque New Mexico. 80 miles of 2045 feet climbing and 3366 descending. Down hill. Has a nice ring to it. Hope the wind cooperates. We shall see. Got in the jacuzzi and the pool. So what's missing.

I hope you are enjoying this blog as much as I am.

Enjoy the ride
