Tour day 14

Woke up to sunny skies.  Temperature in the 40s but comfortable. Climbing day out of Albuquerque. Best part no wind. Body was a bit beat from yesterday and the legs felt it. Wasn't to sure when we took off how the day would progress but I did not disappoint. Its Albuquerque New Mexico to Sante Fe New Mexico. 67 miles, almost 5000 feet of climbing and 3380 feet of descending. For some odd reason I'd rather climb than anything. Challenging and beautiful. Here's the information for the day. One more thing it was Peytons birthday (23) and Paul left. Think we have 2 people joining from here. You can jump in and out of the segments. I'm doing it all but it's nice Crossroads will let you piece it out to meet your needs. Paul will be missed and Payton is our mechanic. Very talented for so young and has his head on straight and phenomenal bike rider. Maybe not doing this but it sure is fun and challenging.

Left hotel and it was up up and away. Unrelenting climbing. Didn't feel it when we started but after warming up the body kicked in. So beautiful here. Had no idea New Mexico was so diverse and the mountains didn't disappoint.

Yes that was snow on the top of that one mountain. Terrain is so diverse. So many different cactus and plant life. Changes the higher you go. We only had one sag today since it was only 67 miles. Our stop was unique. Here is why.

A bottle fence and all that stuff in the other front yard. Not sure what he was getting across but its unique. It was suggested we stop in a town called Madrid. Old coal mining town that is so cool.  We had coffee there. Met an old hippie dude as we drank our coffee. Shared some insight of the area. That is my roommate Ovi from Victoria Canada. Strong rider. Here are pictures of the surroundings and of the town.

The company and coffee was great but the day was not complete. Sante Fe awaits us.

Made it to the hotel and we have the next day off. Needed. Visit Sante Fe and Sunday we are off to Los Vegas New Mexico. Didn't know it existed but will. This is place we ate at. Cool bar restaurant
