Tour day 20
Another beautiful sunny cool day. 50 degrees and hardly any wind. My kind of day. Started out later at 8am instead of 7am because we are only going 45 miles. Heading to Liberal Kansas our 5th state line crossing. Going to be on a freeway again but shoulder is approximately 8 to 10 feet. Found out when semis go in same direction as you as they pass they draw you forward. Gives you a small boost. Who would have thought. Mostly flat. Here is the weather and itinerary.
Today we also get to see Dorothy's house from the Wiazard of Oz. Look it up. The story that is. Not what you would think it is. How it came to be in Liberal Kansas. But before we look at pics from there here are some leading to Liberal.
Seaboard is pork processing plant. Lots of semis going in there. Huge plant as you can see. So many silos along the way. Those are also huge. The fields of feed go on for ever and ever. The lonely windmill out in one of them. Passed through a town called Hooker. No hookers here. Farm town and the chamber of commerce meets in the back of the store. Nice.
Here I am at the state line. Hello Kansas. 6 states and 5th state line.
Now let's talk about Liberal Kansas. Home to the yellow brick road and Dorothy's house. We also went to the airplane museum in town. 120 different planes and helicopters inside and out to look at. Great museum as you can see.
That guy was doing the dab before it popularized a few years ago. Oh well the day is almost done. Going to a restaurant next to where we are staying. They do a nice job picking places out. Tomorrow we are off to Dodge City Kansas and 83 miles. Hope the weather holds up. Can be ugly out here if you have paid attention to the tornados and devastation they cause. Concern about flooded out roads. Will keep you posted. Well again checkout my ride on relive.
Thanks for following. Here we go Dodge City.
