Travel days

Well our first experience of my trip has hit a snag. The flight to Houston was diverted to Oklahoma because of storms. I had to rebook the flights which was an added adventure. Cleveland to Houston to Los Angeles is now Cleveland to Oklahoma to Chicago then hopefully Los Angles. So much for a good night sleep. These seats are not the most comfortable. Will keep you posted of this great adventure.


 

 Made it to the hotel in El Segundo in Los Angles at around 5pm or 8pm your time last night. 28 hours in the plane and airports. Back is killing me from the bench and trying to sleep.

Met up with the crew this morning and checked the bike out for the ride. Got the approval. Meetings today and dinner tonight. Early start to the beach tomorrow and off we go. There will be 17 of us.


 


If your wondering those pics they are from Oklahoma city airport and the plane flying into Chicago. Thought Hopkins was small but its huge compared to Oklahoma. This is my first time with this blog stuff so have patience.

Well Friday 6/28 is my last day for my great United States cross country adventure. 17 miles to go. Dip my wheel in the Atlantic ocean. From one side of this phenomenal country to the other. 49 days total, 43 riding days, century's (100 miles) rode, 15 states crossed, mountains ascended, mountains descended, deserts crossed, snow, rain, flat land, hills, wind, crosswind, headwind, some tail winds, sun, clouds, blowing sand, beauty, water, flooding, 5 broken spokes, 7 flat tires, sticky brakes, scenery to behold, friendships made, broke my bike, bruised ribs, bruised body, dont care, new bikes, bucket list achieved, pushed myself to the limit and more and more. Tour day 48

Last day to ride before our trek to the beach. 90 miles and some climbing. Foggy when we left and in the 60s.  Hurting from spill but able to ride. Bitter sweet knowing this is now coming to an end. 7 weeks of riding and the friendships made. Here is the itinerary and the weather. We had 2 state crossings,  New Hampshire, 13th and Massachusetts the 14th. Was an interesting ride. Turkey in the road and one of the guys had a bear run by him. No picture of that. Hi everyone,  I have met my fellow riders. We had our information session and training. This evening we had a very nice dinner and socialize. Off to bed early since I will be up at 5am, breakfast at 545am and off to Manhattan beach at 630am. Our ceremonial wheel dip will official start my adventure across the United States. 15 states and 3400 plus miles.   Let the festivities begin!
