Tour day 22

Well today wasn't looking to good. Rain was on the horizon. Some major storms were moving in. Time to hit the road to Great Bend Kansas. Another straight shot. The wind would be in our favor for awhile then change to in our face. Temperature was 60 degrees. Here is the itinerary and weather.

Here are some pics of us trying race the storms.

Pretty, but I dont like getting wet especially on a bike. Roads were in good shape on the freeway again. Trucks going our way gave us that little boost when they sucked us in their draft. Scary sometimes since they are so close. Even trucks going opposite direction gave us havoc with the wind. Dreaded the trucks going opposite. Here are some pics after we outran the storms.

Yes more windmills. They are everywhere. Here is a pic of the blades on the ground. Around 150 long. Give or take a foot or two.

Stopped at sag. Here is Dana who is a phenomenal rider but helping Paula run the operation. The van is stocked with all with need to finish the ride.

We also stopped at the halfway point in the USA as you can see. 1561 miles. Halfway in USA. Only 1561 miles to go.

We also stopped at Pawnee park for a 360 degree view of tha area. Lots of  history.

Here's a few other pics. Been lots of rain here. Tornados abound.

The roads just dont end. Could be depressing if you allowed it. Looking down the road with no end in sight. At least there are some flowers along the road that break up the monotony. Well, tomorrow we are heading out to McPherson Kansas and just 65 miles. Hope weather is good. Rumor has it possible rain and headwinds. We shall see. Well  check out relive and see the ride.

Thanks for following my ride
