Tour day 27

Today was an eventful day. Rained last night and was a bit rainy when we left. Wore my rain jacket but gave it to a sag in route. Temp was 68 degrees and humid. Wish we could have spent some time downtown Topeka. Looked interesting. Some headwind. Not that many pictures cause of the weather conditions.

That's right, the itinerary and the weather.

Again. Miles and miles of farm land. Not going to continue to take as many of those pictures. Interesting enough, sounds were coming out of the engine compartment of our box truck. Pulled over and a kitten had climbed up in the engine. Must have been getting to hot. Fortunately for the little one an animal shelter was just passed and was dropped off in safe hands. Some pics leading up to our first sag stop.

At the sag there was a store that sold some interesting items.

Lots of flooding going on and the biggest silos and the most I've witnessed on this ride.

Made it to our last sag before the hotel. We knew there was massive flooding but our route was readjusted. Instead of 81 miles ended up to be 97 miles due to the detour. Hills and more hills, heat in the mids 80s, some headwind and a ride on a tight shoulder freeway. We were not a fan to many but mother nature rules. Check out the Texas Longhorns.

As we were going over the bridge from Kansas to Missouri we witnessed the level of the river. Flooding everywhere.

Good bye Kansas hello Missouri. St. Joseph to be exact. 6th state line, Lewis and Clark and the Pony Express.  Well it was a long day. Way long but no complaints. Heading to Chillicothe Missouri and 87 miles. Enjoy relive.
