Tour day 31

Today was our 3rd century. Bridge out into Springfield Illinois added 2 more miles to make it 108 miles. Very comfortable this morning around 62 degrees. Wind out of NNW and we were heading east so a crosswind/slight tailwind. So here we go again with the weather report and itinerary.

I did take some pictures and enjoyed the cool windy weather.

Those are birdhouses where the tractor is. Speaking of tractors why did I happen to take a picture of this particular one? Guess.

Make it easy for you. Passed him. Quite an accomplishment. Guy was getting it on but powered around him. Yeah! Still flooding all over which you can see. Sandbags and all.

Some pictures of the train tracks to somewhere, my buddies Linda, Bill and Jeff, huge truck loading up with corn at a silo, place falling apart, endless fields of crops, monument, dust storms cause it was so windy and a few others. Wew. Well today was a fabulous ride and only had wind approximately for 3 miles. Time for a shower and dinner and this. Uneventful which is great. Had 2 sags which was good enough for this type of day. Awesome.

It's time for relive.

Tomorrow is Champaign Illinois. Home of Peyton Kaiser. Never heard of him? He is our mechanic. Great intelligent young man. Going places and a competitive cyclist. It's only 87 miles. It is also the home of skater Bonnie Blair and one month of our tour. The most important thing is we get our 4th rest day. Going to the shop where he works and have my bike adjusted. Maybe ride a couple there to see what they have. We shall see. Oh by the way Springfield Illinois is Abraham Lincolns boyhood home as reflected on this big building.

Till tomorrow
