Tour day 32

Having our 4th rest day today in Champaign Illinios. So I am talking about yesterday. Day started out around 62 degrees. Very pleasant and some crosswind which turned into a headwind at some points. Did get simi extreme in some places. Felt good for most of ride but I did have some tired legs from the 108 the day before. Here is my weather and itinerary.

As you will see the terrain has changed. Just flat with a few rollers. Farm land. All farmland. No cattle or pigs roaming about. Same mile after mile but so pretty.

Wish you could visualize how big these farms are and looking into the distance which doesnt end. Continues it seems to eternity. I am surprised at all the windmills to produce energy. So big. Did not also realize just how big and the amount of farms there are. Big business feeding humans and animals. America is so diverse. So much we dont know. Very fortunate to be seeing all of this.
Our first sag or rest stop was in Chestnut. In the middle of the state of Illinois. Not much going on here and pretty much shuttered like a lot of these small towns. Sad.

Was into barns yesterday. Some in better shape than others.

Had to take one of the rich soil. No wonder our food tastes so good.

Went into town for a beer and food. A really neat town. Going back for dinner tonight. Clouds beautiful.

Stopped by the bike shop where Peyton works to fix my bike and take one out for a test drive. Realizing my bike has having some issues from all these miles. 17 years old but is serving me well. Amazing how technology changed. Glad Peyton our super mechanic is with us. Knows his stuff and met his mentor at the shop.

Well I am enjoying my rest day. Washing cloths and washing and oiling bike for tomorrow's 81 mile ride to Crawfordsville Indiana. Amazing we will have been in 9 states and counting. Eastern time zone change coming into Indiana. Here is relive.

Thanks for following.
