Tour day 42

What a great a day for a ride. Started out at 61 degrees and got sunny. No RAIN! Yippee. Even a bit of a tailwind. Only one sag or rest stop today but only 81 miles. Did our 11th state line crossing into New York state. Here is what we had to look forward to.





Hit it hard for the first 43 miles to our sag. Not to many pictures but filled with miles and miles of grapes, wineries and beautiful Lake Erie.

Entering New York state and the town of Ripley. Believe it or not. Believe or not not I had strawberry short cake and 3 cookies for my rest stop. Something I dont normally eat but burned over 6000 calories. So there. 



Water still high here but did not see devastation. A few other sites to share. 















We are close to Niagra Falls but not heading there. Hit a nice hole and almost lost it and had a flat. Fortunate for me Tom and Rick from Crossroads stopped and helped with the flat. One of my bottles took off somewhere. Didn't realize it till I reached our hotel. Still have one left. Need to hydrate. Tomorrows ride is to Victor New York. Have got to admit never heard of the town. Like some of the other ones we've been through. Looking like 90 miles. Tell you the truth never heard of Hamburg New York either. Got to wash and oil up bike since it had rained heavily the night before. Wash clothes, shower, dinner and hit the sack. Ritual every day. Get a bit tired from riding but it's worth it. Hi everyone,  I have met my fellow riders. We had our information session and training. This evening we had a very nice dinner and socialize. Off to bed early since I will be up at 5am, breakfast at 545am and off to Manhattan beach at 630am. Our ceremonial wheel dip will official start my adventure across the United States. 15 states and 3400 plus miles.   Let the festivities begin!

Tour day 8

Leaving Cottonwood Arizona to Flagstaff Arizona. Another fun day of climbing and the cooler temperatures. 46.8 miles and a climb of 5100 feet. Think today will be better than yesterday. That's Charlie getting it.     We are going the red rocks of Sedona. Absolutely breathtaking. Stopped so many times to take pics.  This pics and following don't do them justice. If you ever get the chance this is would be place to visit. Actually any of these places. Stopped for a coffee in Sedona and took in the views. Here are some more.  Had a great ride. Again feeling better everyday. So enjoyed the sights. Town is great. Flagstaff that is. This is an outdoor mecca. These people enjoy the outdoors and I can see why.  Had a tall cold one from a local brewery. Ended in front of the fireplace to finish the day off. Well we have tomorrow off. Wash our

Tour day 48

Last day to ride before our trek to the beach. 90 miles and some climbing. Foggy when we left and in the 60s.  Hurting from spill but able to ride. Bitter sweet knowing this is now coming to an end. 7 weeks of riding and the friendships made. Here is the itinerary and the weather. We had 2 state crossings,  New Hampshire, 13th and Massachusetts the 14th. Was an interesting ride. Turkey in the road and one of the guys had a bear run by him. No picture of that.
